BITUMEN  or  ASPHALT

Bitumen & Asphalt are made of the same materials,
- Bitumen, Aggregate and Sand -

The main difference is how they are mixed together and applied.

Asphalt is a pre-mixed material which is made to order, delivered by truck and must be used within a few hours.
It has a smooth stone free surface.
Kids love it for skateboarding, bike riding ect.

Bitumen Sprayseal is liquid bitumen heated then sprayed onto the job area, aggregate is then spread over the bitumen and it is rolled together.
This process is done twice ( 2 layers of bitumen - 2 layers of aggregate.) A small degree of loose stone is left on the surface and can be swept up when the bitumen is cured.
